Everythings is ready for the 5th Edition of the Aalsmeer Indoor EBT – Karin Cup, a spectacular international beach handball tournament, organized by the dutch Hiekka Hauskaa beach handball club.

From 27 to 29 December 2024, The Beach - Indoor Sport & Event Center of Aalsmeer will once again be transformed into the largest indoor sand arena in the Netherlands, where 38 national and foreign teams will compete for the EBT Beach Handball Tournament Karin Cup 2024.

The three-day tournament is all about the fast action, sportsmanship and party atmosphere that makes beach handball unique.

In addition to the talent and strength of the top international teams on display, there is plenty of room for sportsmanship and fun for spectators and participants. The tournament offers a great opportunity for young and old to experience this dynamic sport up close and get moving. 

Admission is free, but a voluntary contribution is welcome to further develop the event and keep it accessible.

The Karin Cup is more than a sporting event. The aim is to create an atmosphere where fun, fair play and challenge are central and to actively involve the young people of the Aalsmeer and Haarlemmermeer region. The youth clinics on 23 and 24 December offer them the opportunity to get to know this growing sport.

The national teams compete for important points in the National Championship tour during the Karin Cup, while the international teams compete for qualification points for the finals of the European Beach Handball Tour (EBT), the European championship for club teams.

Teams and officials from 12 european countries and one from Asia will participate at 5th Edition.

European Nations represented will be Bulgaria, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia and Ukraine. And for first time in Karin Cup's story there will be a women team from far Japan.

Beach handball is becoming more and more popular all over the world and the tournament in Aalsmeer contributes to this development by putting the sport on the map every year with a great, accessible event. The sport has achieved great milestones in recent years, such as the Youth Olympic Games in 2018, the World Games and last year as Demosport during the Olympic Games in Paris last summer.

The Karin Cup proudly bears the name of Karin, a Dutch beach handball pioneer and an inspiration for many people. Despite her battle with breast cancer, she has remained a source of positivity and determination, with her life motto “pura vida” – celebrating life, supporting each other. Her brother Dennis continues her legacy, which led to the founding of Hiekka Hauskaa and the organization of this tournament every year with so big passion and lot of work.

The International Aalsmeer Indoor EBT – Karin Cup is a tribute to Karin’s perseverance and joy in life and an opportunity to celebrate her vision of sport and life together.
